We are excited to announce our upcoming hackaton focused on developing advanced mobile applications for electricity consumers. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity, and to make a real impact on the way people use and pay for electricity.

The Challenge

The world is becoming increasingly reliant on electricity, and the demand for energy is only going to grow in the years to come.

As a result, it is more important than ever for consumers to be able to manage their energy use in a way that is both efficient and cost-effective.

Mobile apps can play a vital role in helping consumers to do this.

By providing real-time information about energy usage, helping consumers to track their energy consumption, and offering tips on how to save energy, mobile apps can make a real difference in the way that consumers use energy.

The Details

The hackaton will be held on October 19-20, 2023. The hackaton will be virtual, to enable applicants from all over the world to participate.

The hackaton will be a two-day event. On the first day, developers will be given the opportunity to learn about the challenge from industry experts, and to brainstorm ideas. On the second day, developers will work on their projects, along with mentors that will be pre- allocated to each team, and present their solutions to a panel of judges.

The Requirements

To participate in the hackaton, developers must:

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Have a valid GitHub account.

• Be able to commit to the full two-day event.
   

We are looking for entrepreneurs with experience in the following areas:

• Mobile app development

• Data science, Machine learning, AI

• Customer Experience

• Digitalization of the Electricity Grid

Ideas for New Technologies

Here are some ideas for new technologies that could be developed for mobile applications for electricity consumers:

  a. Real-time energy consumption monitoring and optimization
  b. Gamification of energy-saving practices
  c. Personalized energy usage recommendations and tips
  d. Electric vehicle synchronization and optimization with electricity consumption

  e. Smart home energy management applications

  f. Microgrid applications: These applications can help consumers to participate in microgrids

  g. Peer-to-peer energy sharing platforms

  h. Virtual reality or augmented reality applications for energy education

  i. Augmented reality apps for visualizing energy consumption and efficiency in real- time.

  j. Integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning to personalize energy solutions.

Digital Power will provide mentors to assist the participating teams, and the winners will be able to participate in the Power Lab of Digital Power.

The Power Lab is a state-of-the-art research and development facility where the winners will have the opportunity to further develop their ideas and turn them into real-world products.

Digital Power will also help the winners to establish a solid business plan and realistic R&D development plan that will enable to turn their idea to a mature technology product.
